KIND-NESS a poem about growth

KIND-NESS
(In response to ‘Kindness’ from Naomi Shihab Nye)

Thank you for ‘kindness’
I want to read it aloud
so the winds and rivers
never forget
I want to whisper it
so my heart
never forgets.

Yes dear friend
I am that journey,
that forging,
that dissolving,
that dying,
that sorrow,
that panic

Yes
I am that pain,
that doubt,
that fear,
that blindness,

blind faith is
the only real thread left
for the moment.

I have no hope
just a minuscule
bright green kernel in a seed
pulsating…
in a deep dark cave.
A slim stream of gold light
touches it
sometimes…

Sometimes
from moon light
Sometimes
from Sun light
Different rhythms
than the ones we know
No certainty
that the sun will shine with energy
No reassurance
that the moon will be pregnant with wisdom.

Just a deep glimpse of a memory
that life has a deep law
a deep knowing
of the natural laws
of life and death.

I surrender
when I do,
I hold on
when I loose my sense of self

An eternal and infernal
dance of life ,
turning ,
spiraling ,
turning ,
falling,
dizzy,
feeling sick,
s l o w d o w n ...
wait...
cry.
breath.
cry.
curl up,
wait...
an other wave has passed
from the ocean of growth

I am the forger
I am death
I am life
I am the wave and the silence
I am the blind and dark journey
in faith...
…pulsating…
…with …
new kind-ness
